From the beginning Harlequin Costume Company has built quality theatrical costumes for the rental market. We use fine rich fabrics that will stand up to the rigours of film and stage use. Wool's, heavy brocades and lighter cottons and silks are all period appropriate to give our costumes the look and feel of the clothing that would have been worn in the era we are recreating. Fine trims, buttons and other details make the difference between sensational theatrical costumes and the mundane.

We work with Canadian and American theatrical costume designers to fulfill their vision for a show be it for stage or the movies. Our tens of thousands of instock costumes are a great resource for school productions, smaller theatre groups, large regional theatres and opera companies.

Harlequin loves to make your vision come alive. Currently, we have over 150 shows in stock and ready to go.

If your theatrical production is not one of these, or you are looking for a specific period or look for a production that is not a stock item, we can often create the costumes for you.

This approach has enabled us to provide our customers with fresh, magnificent and exciting theatrical costumes for thousands of productions. Whether you're setting the Elixir Of Love in the 1950's Italy, Shakespeare's As You Like It in the Amazon rain forest during Carnival, or Gilbert & Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore on a battleship in the 1930's we've done it.
