 Pinafore Redressed

H.M.S. Pinafore Redressed was performed by the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Winnipeg in April 2011.  Reset in 1930's England by director Reid Harrison, the wit and fun of this classic show meshed perfectly with the change in time. Beautiful textiles and contrasting print, along with classic design elements, bring the 30's to life on stage!  The imposing Battleship set was designed by Sheldon Johnson, costumes designed by Jan Malabar. Oh yes the resetting also required some changes in the one of the songs, in the 1930's it was of course The King's Naveee!!
